Manual of Jaco Coetzee Attorneys in terms of section 51 of the Promotion of Access to Information Act, 2 of 2000, and the Protection of Personal Information Act, 4 of 2013.
The Promotion of Access to Information Act gives effect to the constitutional right of access to information held by the State, and to information held by another person where that information is required for the exercise or protection of any right.
Our manual sets out the records held by the firm, the procedure for requesting access to them, the applicable fees, and the grounds on which a request may be refused. It also sets out how the firm processes personal information under POPIA — the purposes of processing, the categories of data subjects, and the safeguards applied.

A request for access must be made on the prescribed form and delivered to the Information Officer at the address above. The request must provide sufficient particulars to enable us to identify the record and the requester, must specify the form of access required, and — where the request is made in order to exercise or protect a right — must identify that right and explain why the record is required.
Prescribed forms, regulations and fee schedules are published by the Information Regulator at inforegulator.org.za.
